Emandal, A Farm on a River Stir Fry

One summer  I worked at Emandal, a farm a river, near Willits California as a camp counselor. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen that summer, learning as much as I could from Kashaya and Tam–the California gourmet cooks. Here is their stir fry sauce:

1 teaspoon fresh ginger
juice of 1 orange
4 garlic cloves
3 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 Tablespoon honey
2 Tablespoons sesame oil
To stir fry, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil in a wok or large pan. Add any vegetables you have on hand, including tatsoi, bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, kale, bell peppers, or cabbage. After 5 minutes, add the stir fry sauce. Serve over rice. You can also add chicken, beef, or tofu for a more complete meal.
