Two weeks left!

Can you believe we only have 2 CSA weeks left? But have no fear–we’re already preparing strawberries and other crops for the coming year.  Our CSA will take a 5 week break between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, and then we will start again on the 4th of January. Sign ups start this week! Get a brochure at the farm stand when you pick up your share.

Sneak Peak: Garlic, Lettuce, Tomato, Butternut Squash, Bunch Onions, Carrots, Pomegranates, and Radishes. Large share also gets zucchini.


Stuffed Butternut Squash with Pomegranate Seeds (Follow the recipe and add pomegranate seeds or diced apples).I recommend you get the sage from “BD” at the farmer’s market. He has the best variety of herbs and sells on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings. Look for a man with dreadlocks.

Balsamic Roasted Onions. Follow the recipe, but cut off the green stems before you start. Use the green tops in soups, salads, marinades, and egg scrambles. When you’re done roasting the onions,  you’ll feel like you have gold in the bank. Use the sweet onions to top pizzas, stuff sandwiches, top a frittatas, or about 1,000 other things. Eating them as a side dish works too.

Orzo Pasta Salad with Peas, Radishes and Pecorino Cheese. My favorite thing about this recipe is that it reminds us to add radishes to all sort of dishes–not just salads. So the frozen peas I can take or leave, but orzo pasta salads I love.
